Singing with Strawberries It's interesting how you much you long for solitude until you get it. It's like Pandora's Box; a beautifully cruel trick. "Mom's in Georgia till Saturday and Jordan's got classes then he's working a 24." I sit in mom's recliner. "I'm the king of the castle for two whole days," smirking, "I can do whatever I want".
I walk to the foyer, and pause. "If no one else is going to be home, than can walk around naked " I strip on the spot. The feeling is very underwhelming. I go to the kitchen and microwave a frozen burrito for 99 seconds. The first bite burns worse than the devil's hemorrhoids. I spits its machine processed 'beef and been' fill as I throw it to the counter. "Okay," I shout with a burning tongue, "let's get some clothes so that doesn't happen somewhere else!"
I retrieve my clothes
Sun and MoonWhat happened to give and take,
ebb and flow, yin and yang?
What happened to balance, to equality?
What happened to love and tolerance?
Why does no one believe in the
divine united biarchy anymore?
Why must a "New Lunar Republic" rise,
and why must the "Solar Empire" fall?
Why did men hate the solar elder
when she punished her sister for evil?
Why do men love the lunar younger
when she tried to destroy us all?
Was the beauty of one so great
that it pardoned her crime?
Was the sternness of the other
so horrific to deserve our scorn?
Why is it that we are the ones
that are keeping them at odds?
They have made amends!
Why will we not do the same?
LegacyIf I leave one, I hope it's good.
If I don't, I know it's not bad.
My children can carry my name,
only as far as my sons spread it.
After the next three generations,
will I even be remembered at all?
My blood will go on and spread
wide, but also it will grow thin.
There must be something more.
A name on a building is pointless,
Everyone thinks that's just it's name.
To make a mark, to make a difference,
to invest in another, to change a life,
there's no greater way to be remembered.
Only Two"Get up Thomas," my mommy would say.
"Get up, get moving, you're burning the day."
So I'd wallow out of bed in my jammies
and T, hurry to the table of for all the yummies.
I'd gobble it down, go get ready fun,
Cops and Robbers with a Lego toy gun.
We run and scream my mommy and me
before I'd tire and want my TV
shows, there I would lie
daily, until mommy would cry
and I run to her door for the cause of the tears
and there she had pictured a man of few years.
I wondered what he had done to make her so sad,
because he really did look like he'd do anything bad.
My mommy would smile
as big as a mile
and to me say,
"Tommy, I need a minute,
go and play".
War in a Man part3 "So it took me destroying half your kingdom before you were finally able to catch me, what are you going to do now? Kill me like I'm some meager peasant in the market trying to steal carrots. Oh no, off to the chopping block with me, I'm so frightened," the beast snarled with disgust.
The King remained calm, "You were captain of my guard once, the most valued of my soldiers. You protected me for many years, so I will spare you a peasant's death."
The beast fell back exploding into laughter as it rolled in its chains. "I always knew you were soft, but this is a new level for even you my great and mighty lard.
"I never said that I was completely sparing you; I'm going to make an example of you. You will be kept alive forever, by your own power." He waved a hand and the court magician produced a
War in a Man part2 "Captain, are you awake yet?"
His heads throb as he opens his eyes. "Commander Dashner, what do you want?" He sits up slowly realizing he is back in the castle.
"Captain, I hate to be so cut and dry, but must ask you, how many of your servants were supposed to be tending to your estate today?"
"Four, but why are you " his memory rushed back, and he was suddenly frantic again. "Dashner, where is my wife, has she been account for?"
The commander seemed to shrink in his armor. "Captain, your house was near completely destroyed, the guards searched it for survivors but only found," he turned his head and grimaced slightly, "five, charred remains. We cannot confirm yet who the individuals were, but a female body was found in what appeared to be the master bedroom area. I'm sorry sir, I
War in a Man part1 'Uh, this job is so boring,' he thought. 'Most of the common scum would tear each other to shreds to be the captain of the royal guard. If only they knew, how boring this was they might go back to their simple little potato farming lives, instead of wasting my time, trying for recruitment into the royal guard. What's worse is that it's the same little imbeciles that don't make it past the first test whenever the yearly recruiting opens are always the same ones who come back the next year to try again. One would think that with how utterly simple it is to pass our trials they might get the idea after five consecutive years of failure to quit trying. I suppose for some of the dumb peasants though, the guard is the only thing most of the grubby serfs have to hope for.' He sighed deeply, 'If only there was something to do in here, the inner chambers are soooo boring'.
Killed for a Single Word Knives, big gnarly knives, right in your heart. Who did this to you? Your closest friends of course, who else is that cruel? It's not like you have a plethora of them, no you only have a few close friends and that's all you have. The people you trust, the brothers you sweat with, goring you in the heart. You would take their cross for them, and you used to think they'd do the same for you; not so much anymore. Now you start to wonder how long they would leave your body up there.
Why would they do this? The people you love, betray you. Your brothers sell you for their own amusement. Why? Because the way you read is somewhat different? Can they really be so fickle? Can they really be so easily swayed? You would rather be sold out for forty pieces of silver than this.
In Class Prompt #4 There's only hope for a better day than yesterday, childhood bliss is gone. I close my eyes and wish for the days that I awoke at 6am of my own accord to watch my Saturday morning cartoons. Sleep comes easy, darkness comes quickly.
I open my eyes and I am not in my home. I'm not sure I'm still alive. The world is bright, like painfully girly colors bright. Mountains look like they're chocolate, and snow looks like ice cream. "Where am I?" The question doesn't need to be asked but I can't help myself.
"Better question is; what are you?"
I look left to see a light blue pony with a rainbow mane and tail, staring me in the face. I probably should scream from shock, but it's so cute that I can't. "I'm a human," I begin my response, "and my name is John".
